Sadly, these all describe our little ones this week. So, here’s the rundown. Lukey had a cold last week, no big deal and praise God, he has remained untouched by anything else. Elijah had a terrible cold over the weekend, real labored breathing, extremely fitful sleep, and this spot in his diaper area was growing. John got some cream at the pharmacy, but it kept changing and new spots came. So, I ended up taking him (and Caleb) to the ER here with Pam, IMB missionary to help translate. End of story- it’s impetigo! What?? Never heard of that before, apparantly it’s just an infection that can happen. Pam told me that things can quickly turn to impetigo or fungal infections here because of the tropical climate. So, prescription cream for him 3 times a day- oh, and it makes him pretty irritable- the spots, I mean. Caleb woke up Mon. at 11:30 PM, throwing up- we hoped it was just something he ate, then he threw up again Tues. 6:30 AM. John very graciously volunteered to stay home with Caleb and Elijah while Luke and I went to Paula’s brother’s house about 30 min. away in Costa Rica (cool, huh?). So, Caleb’s thrown up a couple more times, I think, but his fever has been crazy high- yesterday it got up to 104.4 and just this morning it was 102.5- bless his heart! The ER doc said he had a throat infection which he was fighting. He said it will be much worse on the baby so keep them separated. Pam told him there was another son in between and he just smiled a kind of sad, knowing smile! So, PLEASE PRAY for: 1. Elijah’s impetigo to clear up with the cream. 2. Caleb’s infection to go completely away. 3. Luke and Elijah to remain free of infection. 4. John and Jenny to stay healthy. Thank you! Wow- what a challenge this is. John suggested I start in Psalms 90 yesterday when I was asking for direction because I had none in my quiet time. What a blessing that has been- I’ve read 90 and 91- so wonderful. Oh, looks like we might be in our house next week- PRAISE GOD!! I have so many pics I want to share- can’t wait to be on-line! Sorry this is a little choppy!

Oh my goodness, what a mess. I’m sorry the boys are sick. I can only imagine the added stress of not being able to see your usual doctor, not to mention the poor little boys. We’re praying for you, as are so many. Give the boys a kiss on the cheek and tell them we love them and hope they feel better. Tell Luke to keep doing what he’s doing, and to stay well! WE love you guys!! Hang in there, as this too shall pass.
I am so sorry the boys are sick. You are in my prayers! I heard a song this morning that really spoke to me….the chorus went something like this-”God never promised that the cross would not be heavy and that the hill you must carry it up would not be steep, but he did promise that he would be there with us the entire time “Don’t forget he is always there no matter the challenge before us! Love You!
still praying for all the family. miss you folks still”””
will continue to pray for the boys a bunch.
Do they have Pedialyte in Costa Rica? I hope by now everyone is feeling better. Poor kiddos. I hope they rotted their brains watching dvd’s on the laptop!
we love you!
AAGGGHHHHH!!! It is SO hard to read this and not be able to come running with meds, fluids, and an extra pair of hands to do laundry! Why is it that when all we can do is pray, it seems like it is not enough when it is actually the best we can offer?? Know that you are always in my thoughts and ever in my prayers, dearest ones.
I am praying for you Jenny! Stay strong! I love you!
I am praying for you Jenny, John and the boys! Stay strong! I love you!
Buenos dias, Como estan usteds?
Hope everyone is feeling better. Just catching up with your blog. God bless you all. My prayers are with you all. So sorry to hear the babies were unhappy. I know that gave you more challenges. When you feel down, remember we are lifting you up in prayer back on the homefront. We could sure use some of that rain here. Thank God for the small amount of any we get. Hope this week will be easier for your babies and you.
Adios
